WalkAide® System
WalkAide is a lower leg neuroprosthetic device designed to counter foot drop – a form of leg paralysis or weakness – in patients who sustained damage to pathways to the spinal cord. The WalkAide electrically stimulates the appropriate nerves and muscles in the leg to allow a patient with paralysis to walk more naturally and efficiently. It’s a non-surgical treatment option that’s easy to use every day.
Using advanced sensor technology, the WalkAide system analyzes leg and foot movement. From the data collected by the sensor technology, the system times itself to stimulate the muscles to flex your foot at the appropriate time during the walking cycle.
Benefits of the WalkAide are:

Increased strength and endurance
Decreased energy expenditure
Prevention, retardation, and/or reversal of muscle atrophy
